The TAP is pleased to announce Gabriele Bozzola as the 2022 recipient of the 2022 Graduate Student Research Prize. Gabriele was selected as the awardee based on his demonstration of exceptional theoretical research in his recent paper published in Physical Review Letters, General relativistic simulations of the quasi-circular inspiral and merger of charged black holes: GW150914 and fundamental physics implications.

In supporting Gabriele’s submission to the competition, advisor Vasilis Paschalidis described the student’s accomplishments “…the work not only opens up a new line of research … but also, for the first time, it has shown the world how to perform, long-term, stable and accurate simulations of charged binary black holes.”

Gabriele will be invited to provide a TAP colloquium during the Fall 2022 schedule. Watch for future announcements of the colloquia schedule.
